CENTCOM Reports Destruction of All Iranian Vessels in Gulf of Oman

(MENAFN) The US military’s Central Command announced Monday that it has destroyed all Iranian naval vessels previously operating in the Gulf of Oman.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, owned by X, United States Central Command declared that Iran no longer has a maritime presence in the area.

"Two days ago, the Iranian regime had 11 ships in the Gulf of Oman. Today, they have ZERO," CENTCOM said on the US social media company X’s platform.

The command accused Tehran of engaging in hostile actions against global shipping routes over many years and emphasized that US forces would continue safeguarding navigation in the region.

"Those days are over," it added.

Iranian authorities have not officially acknowledged the reported destruction of the vessels.

The statement followed remarks by US President Donald Trump, who said Sunday that nine Iranian warships had been sunk, including some he described as "relatively large and important."

On Monday, he revised the number to 10 and added that Iran’s naval command facilities had been “largely destroyed.”

The maritime strikes form part of a broader joint US-Israeli campaign that began Saturday and, according to reports, resulted in the deaths of senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has responded with missile and drone attacks directed at Gulf states hosting American military installations.
