Switzerland Praises Pakistan’s Role in Facilitating Iran-US Talks
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, during which both officials discussed regional developments and welcomed what they described as encouraging progress toward a possible understanding between Washington and Tehran, according to official Pakistani statements.
The Swiss foreign minister reportedly acknowledged Pakistan’s active role in supporting diplomatic engagement and its contributions toward promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond, as stated by reports. Both sides agreed to maintain close communication as the situation evolves.
The discussion came as reports suggested that a formal signing ceremony could be held in Geneva as soon as Sunday.
Earlier, reports indicated that several US Air Force C-17 transport aircraft were sent to Europe carrying equipment linked to a possible visit by US Vice President JD Vance to Geneva for a prospective agreement involving the United States and Iran.
